July 2024 Newsletter

1.   Protect your dogs from heat stroke. During hot days limit the time your dogs are outside and NEVER leave them in a car. Signs of heat stroke include elevated breathing and heart rates, changes to gums, nervousness and confusion. Call your vet at once if they show any of these symptoms.

2.    The stream and its banks are NOT part of the dog park and, as posted, can be dangerous to you and your dogs. The stream at any time can carry a variety of toxic pollutants as well as harmful debris even when the water looks clean. In addition, the banks on both sides of the stream are very slippery and unstable.

3.    When using the water fixtures please press the buttons GENTLY and only for the short time it takes to fill the bowls. Otherwise the mechanism will break causing the water to continue running or for no water to be available.

4.    All dogs entering the dog park are required to have their current rabies vaccine tag displayed along with their license tag. The Animal Welfare League of Arlington is offering low-cost rabies vaccines and microchips on July 11. You must register in advance.
