March 2025 Newsletter

1. To alleviate congestion in the dog park where people tend to gather, take advantage of the new space in the northwest corner of the park to the right of the gate closest to Walter Reed Drive. We hope to plant some trees in this area later this year and add benches as well.

2. Please help keep the park clean by making sure everyone picks up after their dogs and has them in sight at all times.

3. With better weather ahead more people will be visiting the dog park, especially those for the first time who might not be aware of all the park rules. Your help is needed to inform others of the rules to maintain the dog park as a safe and enjoyable space. The rules and regulations are posted at each entrance to the dog park and on the bulletin board. They are listed on our web site as well: shirlingtondogs.org/parks-rules-and-regulations.

4. The next Low-Cost Rabies and Microchip Clinic will be held on March 15 at the Animal Welfare League of Arlington. All dogs entering the dog park must have current license and rabies vaccination tags. You need to register in advance to participate in the clinic:  awla.org/events/clinics
